作品简介

Grown-up Meg, tomboyish Jo, timid Beth, and precocious Amy. The four March sisters couldn't be more different. But with their father away at war, and their mother working to support the family, they have to rely on one another. Whether they're putting on a play, forming a secret society, or celebrating Christmas, there's one thing they can't help wondering: Will Father return home safely?

LOUISA MAY ALCOTT (1832–1888) was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in Boston and Concord, Massachusetts, the setting for Little Women. She wrote her first children’s book, Little Women, at the suggestion of a publisher and based the characters upon her own family. Jo is based upon Louisa herself, and Meg, Beth, and Amy are inspired by Louisa’s own three sisters. This timeless favorite was originally published as two volumes and was the first American children’s novel to become a classic.
